How you book

Space is requested through the tour page. For departures whose itinerary is not yet issued, Field Guides holds a provisional place with no deposit until the itinerary is sent, then asks for the deposit within two weeks. Registration needs a signed release form. Tour limits are firm. From July 2026 some departures need a non-refundable $500 booking fee. The tour manager can book flights for clients without a service fee.

A deposit of roughly 10% (the exact figure is set in each itinerary) is paid at registration. Full payment is due 180 days before departure, or when the tour has enough sign-ups to operate if that is later. Fees are quoted in US dollars, twin share.

Cancelling up to 180 days before departure refunds everything less a $100 handling fee ($500 on booking-fee tours). From 179 to 90 days before, 50% of the full tour fee is non-refundable. After that, no refunds. Field Guides may cancel a tour, normally refunding in full.
